Privacy Policy
rawframes is a sole trader based in New Zealand, contactable at seth@rawframes.co.nz. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We handle your information under the Privacy Act 2020.
Information We Collect
When you book or contact us, we collect your name (and your partner's, if you give it), email, phone number if you provide one, New Zealand delivery address, and event details such as your date, venue, and package. When you use the site, we and our analytics provider automatically collect your IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed. Stripe sends us payment confirmations and limited card metadata (last four digits, card brand, expiry), and couriers send us delivery updates.
We never store your full card number — Stripe handles all card data to PCI-DSS standards, and we only keep a tokenised reference and limited payment metadata.
How We Use It
We use your information to take and confirm your booking, take payment, dispatch and recover the kit, produce and deliver your film and raw footage, provide support, charge any amounts owed under the Booking & Hire Agreement, keep records required by tax and consumer law, and keep the site secure. We won't use it for anything materially different without telling you first.
We share it only with providers who help us run the service — Stripe (payments), Resend (email), our hosting providers Vercel and Neon, couriers, and cloud tools we use to store and deliver footage — and only as much as they need. We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Footage Ownership
The kit records video and audio at your event, which may include your family, guests, suppliers, and bystanders. Footage comes back to us on the memory cards, and we produce your edited film and raw footage, both delivered to you. You keep the rights to your footage.
Marketing Use
We may use stills or short clips from your film in our marketing — on our website, Instagram, TikTok, or in advertising. This is opt-out: we may use your material unless you tell us not to. To opt out, email seth@rawframes.co.nz at any time, and we'll remove it from any channel we control within a reasonable time. We can't guarantee removal of reposts or screenshots already shared by others.
Third-Party Individuals
Your event footage will include your guests. You're responsible for letting them know they may be filmed, and that stills or clips may appear in our marketing unless you opt out.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to remember your booking progress, keep the site secure, and measure how the site is used through Google Analytics and Google Ads. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser, though some parts of the site may not work as well.
Where Your Information Is Held
Some of our providers — including Stripe, Resend, Vercel, Neon, and Google — store data on servers outside New Zealand, typically in Australia, the United States, or the European Union. Before sharing your information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it's protected by safeguards comparable to those required under the Privacy Act 2020.
Security & Retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your information — strong passwords, two-factor authentication on key accounts, encrypted storage where available, and limited access. No online service is completely secure, but if a notifiable breach affects your information, we'll tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as soon as we can.
We keep booking and contact records for 7 years to meet tax and consumer-law obligations, and master copies of your film and raw footage for 90 days after delivery — a buffer if you lose your copy — then delete them.
Your Rights
You can ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct anything wrong or out of date. Email seth@rawframes.co.nz from your booking address, and we'll respond within 20 working days as required by the Privacy Act. If you think we've mishandled your information, tell us first — and if you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.
